I Found Out That My Finance Had An Affair. I

I found out that my finance had an affair. I went to the doctor to be tested for all STDs. My results came back with positive HSV2 of 2.48. He reluctantly went to the doctor to be tested and his test came back 8.97. He believes that my test may be a false positive since the levels are so low. Can anyone explain to me in layman's terms the difference in levels and if it is possible that I may have a false positive?
