I Found Two Ticks Imbedded On My Scroatum This Last

I found two ticks imbedded on my scroatum this last Sunday on the right side, five days ago and yesterday noticed that a lymph node about two inches above the tick bite spot is swollen and a little tender. I went to the doctor immediately because I was very concerned but they wanted to put me on Doxy and werent overly concerned. So my question is, could the irritation from the tick bites being so close to the lymph node cause it to swell?
