I Fractured My Distal Fibula And Was Put In A

I fractured my distal fibula and was put in a cast for a month. the cast is unbearable. I want to take it off and put in a boot that covers the same area as the cast.. I don't intent to walk on it. I want to be able to clean my leg and not itch. is there anything wrong with doing that?
