I Fractured My Left Ankle 8 Weeks Ago, I Have

I fractured my left ankle 8 weeks ago, I have been in a moon boot since. Recent X-rays shows very slow healing another 4 weeks in a moon boot, I was told it should have healed in 6. You can still see the crack in the X-ray, and my ankle is still sore even with moon boot on which makes it uncomfortable. I'm 55 are my bones taking longer to heal maybe?
