I Gave Birth 5 Weeks Ago And Had An Episiotomy.

I gave birth 5 weeks ago and had an episiotomy. As far as I'm aware everything was healing nicely. My husband n I had sex for the 1st time today and there was quite a lot of blood, there were a few what looked like clots. Is this normal? It seems to have reduced but I still have a small amount of blood coming from the area. Could it of been my period starting?
