I Get Extreme Stomach Distress With Every Statin I Have

I get extreme stomach distress with every statin I have ever tried. Now the new Cadiologist has put me on Pravastatin. I have been through years of horrible pain and my only relief is when I take myself off of the statin I am on. How do I get the Dr's to listen to me and try treatment besides a statin? Thank you.
