I Give 2mg IM Ativan And Then 1mg IM 1

I give 2mg IM Ativan and then 1mg IM 1 hr later for a patient with anxiety and agitation. She is also.on pm mirtazapine. I am going to hold her mirtazapine because of additive sedation and other possible combined side effects.
Please advise me whether this is the right thing to do.Thanks
