I Got A Copper IUD About 6 Months Ago Because

I got a copper IUD about 6 months ago because I did not want to be on hormonal birth control any longer. The first 3 months I did not get my period at all. Then, in January I finally got my period and it has not stopped ever since (about 4 months now). I went to the doctor in the beginning of March to see what the matter was and my doctor put me back on birth control pills for a few months to see if it would help regulate my period. It has not stopped and the bleeding has continued ever since. What should I do?
