I Got A Flexor Digitorum Tendon Injury On Ma Thumb.

I got a flexor digitorum tendon injury on ma thumb. I am working on a ship. Please advice foods to be avoided, exercise to be taken.
Dr advised me to clean the wound(sutured area) once in two days, stitch to be removed after two weeks(got 7 stitches). Plaster of paris support for one month.
I did medication in China. They can't speak English. Kindly advice
