I Got A Rope Burn Tues 14, Located On The

I got a rope burn Tues 14, located on the back of my hand. The rope took off the first layer, leaving a half inch wide, and about two inches long, wound. I've been cleaning the wound, applying triple antibiotic, and letting it air dry. Wednesday, the outside of the wound turned red, and had slight swelling as well. Thursday, the swelling increased to the whole hand, and later noticed that night that most of my right side was swollen as well. Today, Friday 17, I went to Now care. The doctor seemed confused by my symptoms, and ran some physical tests by making my stand on each foot, stretch both arms out, test strength in both arms, and also put pressure into my armpit. She said the swelling might be from a stroke, although she didn't seem to confident, and prescribed me Keflex 500mg for infection. I also got told if it gets worse, I should go to the emergency room. After the whole incident, I've been scared and really want to know what's going on.

Should I wait for the symptoms to get worse, or just go to the emergence?
Or is there anyway to decrease the swelling?
