I Got Diagnosed With Trichomaniasis. I Had A BV Earlier

I got diagnosed with Trichomaniasis. I had a BV earlier this year (different doctor) therefore my first thoughts were that my husband has been unfaithful. But he swears he has. We have been together two years. If he is telling the truth, then I've had Trich for 2 years. Is it possible the first doctor didn't see the Trich when she diagnosed the BV ( wet mount)? I've read that Trich can be dormant for years. Does "dormant" mean can be undetected for years. Or does dormant just mean no symptoms?
