I Got Some Sort Of Insect Bit On My Thigh

I got some sort of insect bit on my thigh while at the beach in Westport, WA. It initially itched, then turned very red/pink around the bite (about the size of a silver dollar). When I woke up the morning of the 3rd day, the middle started turning a dark purple (about a dime size). Now, 5 days later it looks like it is healing - starting to look like a bruise. But I have another weird symptom. My mouth hurts! It feels like my tongue has been burned (like when drinking something too hot) and the corners of my mouth are raw....I first noticed this on Tuesday and it has not gotten any better. Have you ever heard of anything like this before?
