I Got The Cotton From A Qtip Lodged In My

I got the cotton from a Qtip lodged in my ear (and yes, I know I shouldn't be sticking anything smaller than an elbow in my ear). It is okay to wait about 36 hours to see my doctor? I am traveling and would prefer to wait until I can see my own doctor rather than go to an emergency department, but want to make sure that I am not apt to do any long term damage by leaving it in for another day.
