I Had A PAP Smear Done End Of Feb. I

I had a PAP smear done end of Feb. i just got my results, i have had the same partner for months he claims to only be with me. But i was told i have trichomoniasis, he had a STD testing done & is negative, even though they did not specifically test for trichomoniasis. Is there a possible way i could of gotten it some other way? Overweight, borderline diabetic, etc?
