I Had A Bad Fall In March Broke Both Main

I had a bad fall in March broke both main bones in right arm, broke 5 bones in left hand & fractured my pelvic bone. Had 3 surgeries on right arm last one Dec 3,2015 to remove hardware in my right arm & also did a carpel tunnel surgery at same time. I do not do well with anaesthetic and having a difficult time getting my strength back, just overall not feeling well. My family doctor wants me to go on 5 mg of Amphetimines. I just turned 77 this month & to me this is speed. I am very reluctant to take this med. I had a stroke Feb 2014 but am ok so I take blood thinners, blood pressure & cholestral meds. I take a sleeping pill each nite. What should I do?
