I Had A Bite On The Middle Of My Forehead

I had a bite on the middle of my forehead around a month and a half ago, stupidly I applied detol to cotton wool and then onto the bite on my forehead it stung and started to peel my skin, since then there is a circular dark colour to where I applied the dettol. I went to my local GP who has prescribed with steroid tape which I have been using for around a 1-2 weeks hardly any change in some areas it's started to turn back to normal skin colour however still dark enough to see from far! Any ideas please help?
