I Had A Brain Stem Stroke 8 Weeks Ago With

I had a brain stem stroke 8 weeks ago with some paralysis which has all but gone away since... Strong family history of stroke, also had a heart attack four years ago at the age of 40.., Anyway just in the last week I've started expiriencing symptoms of vertigo, double vision when I am on the move only... Went back to ER where they did a cut scan but said nothing had changed or had gotten worse, but I guess my question is would vertigo suddenly as a side affect just appear or should it have been there this whole time through recovery
