I had a cold about a month ago, and I went to my doctor who just told me to take some over the counter pain medications. A few days later, I had terrible ear pain. When I was younger, I had two sets of tubes done at age 2 and at age 10 my ear drum perforated. It healed, though I've never been able to go more than three feet under water. I went to the doctor the day after my ear pain and was referred to an ENT, who told me I had ruptured my ear drum. He prescribed me ear drops with steroids in them, and asked to see me in a week. When I came back, I was still having drainage so he said he couldn't put a patch in my ear because it would move. A week later I came back again and he recommended I visit a local ENT (I was away at college) that specialized in surgery for ruptured ear drums due to my past ear issues. I also am still experiencing significant decreased hearing in the ear that was affected This was about 3 weeks ago. I have an appointment scheduled in a few days with my ENT to discuss this issue. What also is worrying me is that a few days ago I woke up with Pink Eye and have not knowingly been around anyone with it so the doctor and I assume it is connected to everything. I am using medicated eye drops for that. I also now have a severe sore throat. It hurts to swallow or yawn, and it really hurts on either side of my upper throat when I stick my tongue out. Any help is greatly appreciated because I feel as though I am falling apart!!!
