I Had A Crown Covering The Back Of My Bottom

I had a crown covering the back of my bottom left molar, after a root canal a few years ago. The crown just cracked and fell off while eating. I have no money or insurance right now, and probably won't for around two weeks. What are the dangers of waiting that long to see a dentist? Can this get infected, and will I be in pain? There is not much pain currently.
