I Had A Ct Scan Because I Previously Had Lung

I had a ct scan because I previously had lung cancer. I get one every 6 months. The last scan showed that I had a mass on my kidney. But was given no explanation as to what it meant. This scan was associated with my lungs so I just assumed it wasn't a concern of the physician on this subject. What kind of test do I need to find out what the mass is?
