I Had A Cyst Removed From My Back A Couple

I had a cyst removed from my back a couple days ago. It was very swollen and painfully infected. The Doctor removed the cyst and drained the pus and packed it. I've gone in every day since to have it re packed. I think he 's going to let it heal without stitches. Will this leave a large scar? I think he didn't want to suture because of all the infection, but will it heal faster or slower without stitches?
