I Had A Discectomy L5/S1 And Nerve Decompression 4 Weeks

I had a discectomy L5/S1 and nerve decompression 4 weeks ago. I have had continuous lower back pain since eventhough taking strong painkillers. I had a morphine Injection today and my doctor has now prescribed morphine patches. Do you believe that the recent surgery was not successful? Do I now require surgery to fuse the discs?
