I had a feeling of indigestion after eating one night and foolishly lying down right after. After lying down I felt a sense of regurgitation, so I got up and put my hand down my throat to try to give myself some relief. Long story short, wrong thing to do because after doing that I immediately got a lump feeling in my throat when swallowing. I went on for about 2 weeks thinking it would pass, but it didn't pass much. With panic and anxiety getting to me, I went to the ER only to be told without a scan that I had Gerd and anxiety. I was given Protonix (40)mg 1/day for about 2 weeks. After taking it, it did help with lump in throat feeling, but I ended up stopping it with 1 pill left out of fear of reading the side effects. I didn't notice heartburn, mucus etc. until I quit the pill. Throat has gotten a lot better, but have to be careful of what I eat or how much I talk, or gets sore again. For the record, I have seen my family doctor who did labs on me. Everything came out fine except my TSH levels were really low, vitamin D was really low 21.1 and calcium was slightly raised. Changed my diet, taking vitamin D now to raise my levels. Feeling a lot better, but still sore throat sometimes. I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. Family doctor wants to retest in 1 month to see if it will correct itself. I also had a baby a little less than a year ago. Any thoughts? Just want to feel like my total old self again. Sorry for the long post guys. Love and light:)
