I had a heart attach on Feb 26th, 2015. I am a 55 yo female with no prior cardiac issues other than high b/p. I was taking clonidine 0.1 mg BID. I had taken effexor for the first time that morning.I think it was a serotonin storm. I had a bad reaction to mucinex a few years ago, so I must be sensitive to anything the raises the serotonin. My triponin level was 0.58. I had an cardiac angiogram, it came back normal. I also had a nuclear stress test that was normal. They did find my TSH was 6.24 so after a second test confirmed it was still elevated I started on Levothyroxine 75mcg. I was also put on metropolol 25 mg daily. My b/p dropped to 90/50 and I was dizzy and tired so I came off it. My PCP believed I may have a carcinoid tumor. several blood tests and a CT scan showed very little. I have a 5 mm nodule in my outer Lower Right Lobe of my lung. About 6 weeks ago my feet and ankles stated swelling up to plus 4 pitting edema. I thought maybe it was the estrogen cream I was using, so I stopped it and the edema continued for 3 weeks. I was also very short of breath with minimal exertion. I had more blood tests and my TSH was 0.02. I stopped the levothyroxine and after 2 weeks it had come up to 0.20. The Lasix and going on an anti inflammatory and low glycemic diet helped get the fluid off. I started cardiac rehab to try to figure out what is wrong with me and to build up my endurance. whenever my heart rate goes up to say, 137 bpm, my b/p also goes up to 206/93. yesterday I noticed at rest they checked my left arm and it was 154/82. during exercise it was the above example of 206/93 on my right arm. while at rest after exercising they checked my left arm and it was 138/82. I asked them to check my right arm. It was 172/90. I am a RN, I know this can not be good. Ill see my PCP on Monday and my new cardiologist on Friday. But, what do you think is going on???
