I Had A Huge Knot On My Shin For About

I had a huge knot on my shin for about 2 months it was swollen and hurt to walk a littile and the swelling went down a little but then today i wacked my shin in the same place and the same leg and its swollen agian and my leg is a little still. Do you know whats going on?
