I Had A Hysterectomy 6 And A Half Weeks Ago.

I had a hysterectomy 6 and a half weeks ago. I have had light bleeding since the procedure. I have been to my doctor the last 4 weeks where he has put some something on my tissue to try to get it to heal. He told me that if it does not stop by next week that I might have to go back to surgery. Is this normal to bleed that long after surgery and would surgery be necessary?
