I Had A Left Thyroidectomy In 2014. Right Thyroid Has

I had a left thyroidectomy in 2014. Right thyroid has nodule of 1 cm. I have had achronic cough for 2 months usually with talking. Had a scope and HEENT says I have gerd and put me on omeprazole. Never had symptoms of gerd prior to this DX. Now after one week on medication, I have so much acid reflux I can barely stand it and cough continues. Not sure what to think.
