I Had A Pain In My Back On The Left

I had a pain in my back on the left side & my left shoulder & under my arm was itching & hurt. I went to the doctor & he said I have shingles. He said I was in early stages of it but yet I'm not broke out anywhere. Its been 4 days since I started hurting. If I had shingles wouldn't I be broke out or something. My email is YYYY@YYYY
