I Had A Pain In My Lower Head Near Spinal

I had a pain in my lower head near spinal cord on the right side.....their is also a swelling and it causes swear pain.....especially when doing anything with great focus or watching something very carefully.....Doctor had asked me to do CT scan but i m avoiding it.....can u tell me any reason for this pain?????
