I Had A Pap Smear Today The NP Said I

I had a pap smear today the NP said I had a lot of yellowish green discharge I have never had an abnormal pap smear and I do not have vaginal discharge that is noticeable in my under clothes I have no itchy pain burning or anything else, wouldn't I notice this discharge?
