I Had A Plate Installed In My Right Ankle Three

I had a plate installed in my right ankle three years ago July and for the first time the ankle will get hotter in that area then the surrounding areas. This increase in temperature is usually brief in duration, 2-5 seconds. This started last week with a half hour or more between episodes, but beginning yesterday the frequency has increased as well as the duration. Any ideas?
