I Had A Red Line Running From My Ankle Up

I had a red line running from my ankle up to my top inner thigh, no pains, no itching, and I didn't even notice it right away. I was given an antibiotic and told it was an infection in my main vein. The antibiotic worked somewhat to get rid of the line but I had to use a topical cream to try clear it up. little red, dots are still visible.
Now, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere about this sort of thing effecting hearing, today I can barely hear out of my ears....
Help. can these two things be connected in anyway possible?
