I Had A Rib Injury Landing On A Knee During

I had a rib injury landing on a knee during a football game and upon impact I heard cracks and crunches in rib area. Then I noticed a couple days later bright red blood and some clotted in my stool. After being x-rayed the hospital said no fracture or breaks. Why is there blood in my stool ?
