I Had A Root Canal That Become Infected. As A

I had a root canal that become infected. As a result, I had to have my tooth extracted this week, surgery on my gum, the infected bone was removed, and a bone graft was inserted. This was on Monday. Today is Thursday and I received an Essex retainer with a false tooth in it. My mouth is still healing. Should I sleep in the Essex retailer or just put it in during the day? I also received a flipper but can't use it at all due to gagging.
