I Had A Staph Infection After My Hip Replacement. Because

I had a staph infection after my hip replacement. Because of the staph, the incision had to opened and washed. Luckily, I was able to go home with 30 days of oral augmentin. About 2 weeks after beginning the antibiotics, I broke out with a rash on my neck and back. Some of it was welts. I assumed it was from the augmentin so I decided to deal with it until the 30 days was up. Unfortunately, two weeks after I finished the augmentin, I was still scratching. One night I couldn't stand it anymore, I went to a med clinic. The doctor gave me a steroid shot. I relieved the itching but three days later it was back. I went to see my regular doctor. He put me on oral steroids (4 for 4 days, 3 for four days, etc.). Everything went away. I took the last one on Sunday and the rash returned on Wednesday. Now he is treating me for scabies. I used the cream on Monday. Tuesday, the rash broke out on my upper legs. I am using it again. I still itch. Some of the rash is gone but is breaking out in other areas. Is this common with scabies or do I possibly have something else?
