I had a "stomach virus" in July. After a few days of the typical vomiting, diarrhea, etc., the nausea, gas, and heartburn continued for weeks. Although the nausea subsided, that was followed by frequent stomach pain, lots of gas/heartburn, change in taste buds etc. Have also had unintentional weight loss. My gastro doc ordered blood work, and all of it was normal. I am scheduled for a scope on Tuesday. I have had GERD for years, esophagus that has the "rings," and has been stretched twice. Have been on stomach meds for years...currently omeprazole. Also may have some IBS/ etc. I am assuming that the normal blood work is a good sign. However, the discomfort in the abdomen-mostly above belly button-is different from past symptoms. I don't want to think the worst, but...? By the way, in 2011/2012, I was vomiting "buckets of bile." Had acute kidney failure, due to dehydration. Eventually diagnosed with pancreatitis and a non-functioning (30%) gall bladder, which was removed.
