I Had A Transvaginal Ultrasound This Morning. I Have One

I had a transvaginal ultrasound this morning. I have one small simple cyst on the left ovary which my gyno is not concerned about. The lining of my uterus is at 1.9 cm and she said the lining should be at 1 cm or less. I am 52 years old and perimenopausal. My last period was July 10, 2016, and I haven't had a period yet for the month of August. My gyno said if I haven't had a period by the first or second week of September, she wants to do an endometrial biopsy. She said if I did have a period, then after the period was over, she wants to do another transvaginal ultrasound to see the thickness of my uterine lining. I am very concerned about this diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia. My mother died of ovarian cancer at age 56. I am about 30 pounds overweight and gained this weight after I hit 50 years of age. I am roughly 5'3" and have always weighed around 123 lbs for years. I now weight about 150 lbs. What do you suggest I do? Should I be worried? Should I try to lose weight? I'm not eating any more than I ever have, but I have stopped exercising every day. Should I get back on a regular exercise schedule? Will that help the period start? Thanks in advance for any advice.
