I Had A Upper Moler Pulled About Five Years Ago.

I had a upper moler pulled about five years ago. I have had pain that starts where the tooth was and moves up into my head it is horrible pain. I treat it with sudafed and excedrine mirgraine pills. Most of the time the pain goes away in about an hour. What can it be? I cannot handle
light or sound and a put an ice pack on my face and head it is all on the left side. thank you I am a female age 69 and otherwise healthy.
