I Had A Vp Shunt Inserted Due To A Colloid

I had a vp shunt inserted due to a colloid cyst that couldn't be removed in Dec 2014.
At My check up a week ago I was told that I will have a seizure if I drink or smoke hubbly. Is this right?
After my op, I was told that life could go on as normal and only now have been told that smoking hub can cause a seizure. But I've been smoking it for 6 months already (before this check up)
