I Had A Wart Removed From My Middle Finger By

I had a wart removed from my middle finger by electrocautery 4 weeks ago. The area is almost healed but I still feel soreness and discomfort from the site. I am unable to leave the site of removal undressed as when the skin dries out to normal texture, the area becomes very sore. Is this normal? I am using an antibiotic cream, fucidin.
