I Had Accident In 2005 And Undergo A Surgery Operation

I had accident in 2005 and undergo a surgery operation and plate was place on my leg, my leg is head and the plate is still there, l don't know if there is any side effect if l leave the plate there without having it remove, also l don't if is because of the plate that l do have little pain whenever l walk for a long time.
