I Had An C5-6 6 Wks Ago And Was Told

I had an C5-6 6 wks ago and was told at 4 wk follow up I should not return to riding horses ever. I told the NS prior to surgery, I wanted to ride my horses and work as a physical therapist in acute care setting after my surgery and he did not say I could not. Followed up with his PA 4 wks post op and he said because of the plates and screws if I fell I could end up a quad. Very upset, my NS is on short term leave of absense and unavailable to talk to. As far as I know my surgery was successful able to lift my right arm and could not before the surgery. Still have difficulty swallowing and sore throat 6 wks post op.
