I Had An EGD Yesterday And Was Told I Had

I had an EGD yesterday and was told I had many polyps. There is one imparticular that is 3 cm in the cardia. The Dr. was finally able to get a biopsy of it. He had a very difficult time getting that biopsy. He stretched my upper esopogus but could not stretch the lower because this large polyp pressed against the outside of the esophagus and he was concerned that it might make the polyp bleed more. The other polyps were also bleeding and he took some biopsies of those, too. What could cause this and could it be cancer? We are waiting on the biopsy results. The Dr. has also put me on sucralfate 4 times a day. Please advise. Thank you. Darlene23
