I Had An Echocardiogram, Chest Xrays, Holter Monitor And Afib

I had an echocardiogram, chest xrays, Holter monitor and afib monitor (2 week period) all done approximately 9 months ago. I was having many symptoms. I had no idea what to do. A Primary Care doctor told me I had 4 arrythmias (sp?) & probably needed a Pacemaker. She advised me to get Medical Insurace immediately.

She then sent me to a Cardiologist who prescribed an AFIB Monitor test (2 wks), echocardiogram, xray. I think that's all.

He said there was nothing wrong with me. I said what about my symptoms? He said go back to your PC doctor. I asked how & why my PC doctor said I probably needed a Pacemaker & he made a dismissive face & shrugged his shoulders. (???) I didn't know what to do!! So I just went on with life. Of course, my symptoms got worse.

The 3rd of this month I drove myself to the hospital. They kept me 4 days. Diagnosis was immediate. Congestive Heart Failure, Acute. I'm now on Lasix & a ProAir RespClick (Albuterol Sulfate Powder) Inhaler.

I'm actually seeing that Cardiologist again - his receptionist (4 doctor office) said she would trust her life with him & one of the others. I actually liked him & his diagnosis (although nothing prescribed to help me & no answers to why I felt so lousy!). The office is highly thought of in the medical community also, very! Sooo...

Any suggestions? Am I going to get a "prognosis"? I understand there are many options for my condition depending on many factors. Just wondering if I'm getting the proper care?

What would you do in my shoes - I guess that's what I want to know.
