I Had An Ingrown Toenail And Stubbed My Toe Which

I had an ingrown toenail and stubbed my toe which ended up chipping the corner that was ingrown. I had to cut out that corner which did get rid of the ingrown toenail but I am scared that it will grow back ingrown in that corner. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from growing back ingrown?
