I Had An Intravaginal Ultrasound Done With The Findings Stating

I had an intravaginal ultrasound done with the findings stating that there is a 2.4cm complicated fluid collection anteriorly in the lower uterine segment. This may lie within the myometrium adjacent to the endometrium or possibly the cervix.

What does this mean? My ob wants to do a D&C and birth control pills.
