Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an upper endoscopy and it came back showing signs consistent with Celiac disease. The doctor then did blood tests after to confirm (but didn't seem to think it was it based on that result in the biopsy). I have only spoken to the nurse who quickly looked at my chart to say blood tests came back normal - but I am not sure she is looking at anything other than Normal levels of everythign else they checked. I know they are looking for antibody pos/neg? So my question is - if the biopsy comes back with results consistent with Celiac disease and my blood does come back normal which is to be the highter trusted result. I read that biopsy is the true way to diagnose? Just not sure that the biopsy coming back with signs consistent with means yes
