I Had Been Takin Welchol To Help Reduce My Cholesterol

I had been takin Welchol to help reduce my cholesterol for many year and had no problems with this medicine. My insurance in 2018 would no longer pay for this medicine due to the high cost and my doctor gave me cholestyramine for oral suspension - each powder packet contains 4 grams of anhydrous cholestyramine in 9 grms of Cholestyramine for Oral Suspension. However this product contains sucrose. When I mentioned the sucrose my doctor said I could now take Prevalite which does not contain sucrose but has Nutrasweet and for some reason costs twice as much . Is one product much different than the other and is better to avoid sucrose or Nutrasweet?
