I Had Blood Work Done Today And My Doctor, At

I had blood work done today and my doctor, at the VA clinic, phone me and told me to go the local emergency room if I get fever do to my low white blood count. This is a problem I have had for some time. However, this time it's lower than usually. I need some dental work done. Could that be the cause for the low white count?
