I Had Brown Discharge A Few Days Ago And Though

I had brown discharge a few days ago and though it was my period. I only had it once and it only was once day. I though it was supposed to last 2-7 days so was it actually my period? it had one small clump in it. It has been 6 days and it hasn't appeared again.
